Biomass boiler
The facilities of Torbath Furniture are equipped with a heating system powered by BIOMASS, connected to a boiler where its fuel consists of the wood waste generated during production. A clean and eco-friendly fuel, more economical and less polluting than fossil fuels.
Naturally,
biomass heating systems emit CO2
to the atmosphere resulting from the burning of this fuel. But this emitted CO2 is the
same as that of plants, functioning as the fuel that
they absorbed when they were alive. Thus, the final balance of CO2
emitted would be close to zero.
TORBATH,
S.A. wishes to contribute to the improvement of its environmental and
social surroundings, working day by day in these areas to achieve it.

One of the
main advantages of biomass heating is that it is one of the
most eco-friendly ways to heat a facility. Additionally, the
fuel is much more economical than electricity or petroleum derivatives, and its price is subject to fewer fluctuations. Thus, a
pellet boiler can be up to 40% more
economical in its consumption than a natural gas boiler.
It should be added that the use of
this fuel contributes to the development of local agricultural cooperatives
and the recycling of by-products from the forest and the field, as well
as promoting independence from large energy companies.
Solar Panels
Solar panels have been installed in new buildings with the aim of minimizing pollutant emissions, achieving considerable energy savings, and reducing environmental noise. 500Kw of solar panels to generate an estimated production of 867 MWh/year in self-consumption mode.

Reinforced and Plastic-Free Packaging
We have currently implemented new packaging that completely eliminates the use of single-use plastics, opting for containers made exclusively from cardboard.
Our shower trays STRATO-Titanlight® come in a reinforced cardboard box, which is not only safer for transport but also eliminates the need for additional plastic materials to ensure the quality and protection of the product. By using a single material in the packaging, we facilitate its recycling without the need to separate it beforehand.

This change allows us to avoid the increase in rates resulting from the plastic tax established by the Law 7/2022 on waste and contaminated soils to promote a circular economy.
We are committed to taking our responsibility in the proper management of the packaging waste we generate, being part of the waste program of Ecoembes. In addition to its positive impact on the environment, this new packaging offers greater safety for our products.
The reinforcement of the box protects the shower trays against possible breakage, damage, and impacts on the corners during transport and handling.
FSC
We have materials with FSC Certification that contribute to the maintenance of nature, using materials from properly managed forests to ensure the sustainability of forest ecosystems.
More eco-friendly machinery
With the current incorporation of machinery for the manufacture of our bathroom furniture, a more efficient waste collection is achieved, resulting in lower internal and external pollution from particle exposure to the atmosphere.
Periodic measurements are carried out through an authorized OCA achieving levels well below those required by law, and we produce lower energy consumption as we work with power variators. It is important to highlight that our raw materials respect the principles of sustainability and conservation of the planet. We hold the ISO 14001 Certification that applies efficiency systems in its production system, minimizing and recycling the generated waste.
